Routine cleanings and checkups are the foundation of dental care — catching small problems early, before they turn into something that needs a lot more time and treatment.

What it is
A dental cleaning removes plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing at home can't fully reach, especially along the gumline and between teeth. A checkup pairs the cleaning with an exam — checking for cavities, gum health, and anything else worth keeping an eye on — usually alongside a digital X-ray when needed to see what's happening beneath the surface.
What to expect

Dr. Kim checks your teeth and gums, and reviews X-rays if it's been a while or something needs a closer look. - 2Cleaning
Plaque and tartar are removed, followed by polishing. - 3Discussion
Any concerns — cavities, wear, gum health — are discussed along with next steps, if any.
