Dental Implants

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up — a titanium post takes the place of the tooth's root, and a custom crown attaches on top. Unlike a bridge or denture, an implant stands on its own without relying on neighboring teeth.

Open Mon–Fri · 9AM–1PM & 2–6PM

What it is

A dental implant is a small titanium post that's placed into the jawbone where a tooth is missing. Over time, the bone fuses to the post in a process called osseointegration, creating a stable foundation. Once that's healed, a custom-made crown is attached on top, built to match the size, shape, and color of your natural teeth. The result functions and looks like a real tooth — you can bite, chew, and brush it normally.

What to expect

  • 1
    Consultation and planning
Dr. Kim examines the site, reviews a digital X-ray, and talks through whether an implant is the right fit — including bone density and healing time.
  • 2
    Placement
The implant post is placed into the jawbone in a single visit. Local anesthesia keeps the procedure comfortable.
  • 3
    Healing
The bone needs time to fuse to the implant, typically a few months, before it's ready to support a crown.
  • 4
    Crown attachment
Once healed, a custom crown is attached to the implant, matched to your natural teeth.
Every case is different — bone density, healing time, and overall treatment plan vary from patient to patient. The details above are general information, not a diagnosis. Dr. Kim will go over what applies specifically to you at a consultation.
