Fillings

A filling treats a cavity by removing the decayed part of a tooth and filling the space with a durable, tooth-colored material — stopping decay before it spreads further.

Open Mon–Fri · 9AM–1PM & 2–6PM

What it is

When a cavity forms, the decayed portion of the tooth needs to be removed before it spreads deeper. A filling replaces that removed material, restoring the tooth's shape and function. Modern fillings use a tooth-colored composite resin rather than the old metal amalgam, so they blend in rather than standing out.

What to expect

  • 1
    Numbing
The area is numbed with local anesthesia.
  • 2
    Removing decay
The decayed portion of the tooth is carefully removed.
  • 3
    Filling
The tooth-colored filling material is placed, shaped, and hardened with a curing light, then polished to blend with the rest of the tooth.
